Update from the Executive Director |
Dear Friends, Fall has arrived on the Northside, and with it, so many signs of life and joy at The Pittsburgh Project. Our Afterschool Program is in full swing, students fill our classrooms and the DreamLab each afternoon, exploring electives like cooking, art, and robotics. It’s a joy to see them learning, laughing, and building friendships that make our campus come alive.

This month has been full of meaningful moments. We kicked off October with our Family Night, a heartwarming event that drew nearly 100 parents and children for dinner, games, and connection. It was a beautiful reminder of the strength and care that this community embodies. |
A week later, Fall Fest, our annual fundraising celebration that brought together friends, supporters, and neighbors for a night of good food, laughter, and shared purpose. One of the highlights came from Ashley, a former student whose children now attend our programs. She shared how The Pittsburgh Project helped shape her growing up and how it was like a second home. She also expressed her gratitude that her own kids now get to experience the same love and care that she received. Her words reminded us that the seeds planted decades ago continue to bear fruit in the next generation. |
And just last week, we wrapped up the month with a joyful Trunk or Treat, where kids dressed in costume, community partners decorated cars, and the candy was plentiful. It was an excellent way to end the month and celebrate all the families who make The Pittsburgh Project feel like home. As we move toward the close of the year, I’m deeply grateful for everyone who makes this work possible: our dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and partners. Your support allows us to keep sharing hope, empowering youth, and building community here on the Northside.
