Garden to Table Cooking with Our Own Freshly Grown Ingredients

Cooking is just one of the electives offered during our After-School Program. Students learn how to cook their own dishes from scratch, how to use different cooking methods, and how to read and follow recipes. This class also challenges kids to taste foods they would not normally try. Last week, our students learned to sauté vegetables with Spanish spices, and served them over rice! |
Students were able to use peppers that they grew themselves for this recipe in our garden. The Garden elective is often tied together with Cooking, and kids learn how to include fresh vegetables in their meals. |
